Senior Vice-President / Portfolio Manager

Darrell specializes in assisting business owners, retirees, and professionals in the accumulation and preservation of wealth. He develops each portfolio one investment at a time, incorporating a client’s financial objectives as well as their risk tolerance, estate planning needs and tax considerations.A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce, Darrell has gone on to obtain many financial distinctions, such as Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute, Certified Financial Planner, Certified Investment Manager, and Financial Management Advisor. He also serves on the Manitoba board of IIROC.

Darrell grew up in rural Saskatchewan, and maintains strong connections to his rural roots. He currently lives with his family on an acreage near Teulon, MB. In his spare time, Darrell coaches baseball, and is very active in his sons’ sports and extra-curricular activities.

Brock Bieber, B.Comm. (Hons.)

Investment Advisor

Brock has been exposed to the wealth management business his entire life, surrounded and inspired by a family of financial advisors who were genuinely passionate about helping others achieve their financial goals. Shaped by a family culture that instilled strong core values, along with a having a desire to connect with people from all walks of life, it was merely a natural transition to join the industry over 6 years ago.

Driven by this same passion to create wealth and financial security for his clients, Brock has been privileged to partner with a team of investment specialists who use their 50 years of combined experience to cater to the needs of many individuals including retirees, business owners and professionals.

Brock and the Bieber Gebhardt Advisory Group believe firmly that a client’s interests are paramount, and understand that customizing a sound financial plan and an effective strategy requires a healthy relationship built on transparency, integrity and trust.

Jeff Sveistrup, CIM, FMA, FCSI

Senior Investment Associate

Jeff leads the administration component of the Bieber Gebhardt Advisory Group, efficiently organizing the office for both Guy & Darrell. He has been in the financial industry 30 years and has achieved the designations: Certified Investment Management (CIM), Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) and Financial Management Advisor (FMA).

Jeff was born and raised on a cattle ranch in the Interlake. He enjoys the outdoors, and sharing a good laugh with family and friends. His kind and generous personality brightens up the office.

Jenna Brown

Investment Associate

Jenna co-leads the administration component for the Bieber Gebhardt Advisory Group. Her strong work ethic coupled with a keen attention to detail helps to provide a strong administrative foundation for the team. Jenna has nearly 10 years of experience in the financial services industry and prides herself on delivering prompt and efficient service.

Jenna was born and raised in Winnipeg. In her time away from the office she enjoys cultivating her back-yard garden, and spending quality time with her niece.

Matt Skrepnek, B.Comm. (Hons.)

Investment Associate

Matt’s focus is on maintaining and enriching the relationship with the Bieber Gebhardt clients. He is the administrator of our Client management System (CRM), and helps facilitate all written communications sent from the group. Matt focuses on ensuring plan takes action with the implementation of investment management, investment research, and special projects. He also works closely with Brock in promoting the Bieber Gebhardt Group in the community.

 

Matt graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus in finance. He was highly involved in the Asper School of Business, co-running the University of Manitoba Investment Group and taking part in the CFA Institute Research Challenge. In his spare time, Matt plays hockey, golf and spends time with family and friends in cottage country.

 

Cedric Paquin, CA, CFP

Wealth Planning Consultant

Cedric Paquin works closely with our high net worth clients to provide ongoing holistic wealth planning solutions that encompass all areas of their financial lives. Cedric has a particular focus on helping clients preserve their wealth by providing personal and corporate financial, tax and estate planning advice, business sale and transition planning, intergenerational wealth transfer strategies and charitable giving strategies. Cedric has completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course, the Advanced Tax Issues for the Owner Managed Business Course, is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba, the Estate Planning Council of Winnipeg, the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Financial Planning Standards Council.

Gerald Sawatsky

Estate & Insurance Advisor

Gerald Sawatsky has more than 25 years of experience in the world of investments and insurance. Gerald works closely with our high net worth individual and corporate clients to provide unique, customized solutions. Gerald focuses on corporate transition and tax strategies, corporate risk management, intergenerational wealth transfer and wealth preservation.

Ancillary services such as lending and risk planning are provided by National Bank of Canada and National Bank Insurance Inc., affiliated companies of National Bank Financial Group, which are not members of Canadian Investment Protection Fund (CIPF).

Peter Martin

Associate

Peter is our most senior member of the team, he helps arrange seminars and appreciation events to ensure our commitment to keep clients informed. Peter continues to drive the group forward by improving our inter-connectivity and efficiency using his years of experience doing the same at MTS. 

Peter is very involved in his community of Transcona, with playground and park development as well as being a key member of the Transcona Centennial Planning Committee. In his spare time, you will find Peter and his wife at various arenas watching their grandchildren play hockey.
